We are skirting south down Ruta 40 in Argentina and jumping back into Chile at the first opportunity. We’re headed to Torres del Paine National Park, another place I’ve long awaited.
It’s inconceivable that the route between two of the most beautiful places on Earth is boring, windswept pampa. Yee-Gatz! Argentina’s been beat with the ugly stick!
Just as rain started to fall, we found an abandoned building to spend the night. It’s a Casa de Ciclista of abandoned houses. Judging by the walls, every bicycle traveler that passes sleeps here. The walls are covered with names and dates of passing cyclists, dating back to December 2012.
