Yesterday we took a day off in Chos Malal. We grilled up a kilo (2.2lbs) of beef and an assortment of sausages. That’s a lot of meat for two people in one sitting. We were quickly befriended by the collection of well fed pets at the hotel.
We stopped at a Gaucho Gil prayer house on our way out of town and asked that he do something about these headwinds.
Never underestimate the power of Gaucho Gil.
Even though we didn’t leave town until 11am we still managed to cover 66 miles. It’s amazing what we can do when we’re not fighting the wind. We made camp at Rio Salado (Salty River), which as the name implies is a bit salty. I swam in it nonetheless.
