Tucked up in the northeastern corner of Chile, hugging the Bolivian border, is Lauca National Park. At 15,000 feet the park is host to a variety of high altitude animals like vicuña, flamingos, and vizcachas. There are snowcapped mountains, volcanos, lakes, and the alpine grasses give the land a golden glow. It’s a beautiful place and a perfect welcome back to the altiplano.
