Today we hit our 15,000 mile mark. We were somewhere out in the desert of southern Peru. It took 1635 hours in the saddle to arrive at this place, 15000 miles from where we started 550 days ago in Houston, Texas.
15,000 miles is the distance to drive across the USA, New York City to San Francisco, five times. GoogleMaps says we have about 3,800 miles to reach Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in South America (and in the world). But GoogleMaps doesn’t know about our detours to the Colca Canyon in Peru, the Uyuni salt flats of Bolivia, or Torres del Paine in the Chilean Patagonia. Something tells us we’ll hit 20,000 miles before we reach Ushuaia next Spring.
In the spirit of throwback Thursday, let’s take a look at where we’ve been on the 1000s:

And now for some celebratory jumping in the desert:
Holy hell, Sarah, it looks like you could still clear 5-6 in the high jump without even thinking about it! Congrats on the milestone!
(Even if it was a month ago…)
Well done Scott & Sarah! Now I just can’t wait to see where the next 15 000 will get you!?
I hope the pause back in USA will help to bring back the riding mood!
Thank you for letting us being part of your great adventure, it’s sure a lot of work to keep your journal up to date, a great gift you’re doing to all of us readers.
Congrats x 15,000 times! I am still enjoying the ride.
