Today marked another day of over 3500 feet of ascents. The west coast is definitely not flat. There are no mountain passes but that doesn’t mean there isn’t significant climbing. But at the end of the day we still ended up at less than 200 feet above sea level. It’s a bit discouraging to not have anything to show for all our hard work.
I broke the 40mph mark today! I wish I could take all the credit, but I had a
little lot of help. I was drafting behind Scott, downhill, with a tailwind. Whatever…I went fast.
Tonight is our last night with Stef & Ashley, and Mary, Brad & Leo before we all disperse in San Francisco. We’ve been traveling on and off with the same set of people since arriving on the Oregon coast. Stef & Ashley are headed home to Tucson, Arizona. Mary & Brad are going on to the Mexico border so there’s a chance we’ll cross paths with them again. It’s been weeks since Scott and I have traveled alone. We’re afraid it will feel lonely without the rest of the group 🙁
