SUNSHINE! THE SUN IS OUT!
We are so excited to crawl out of the tent and find the fog has cleared. It’s the first morning in a while that we’re not fogged in. Our campsite is just off the beach. We slept great with the soothing sounds of the ocean in the background. We watch the waves roll in as we eat breakfast. It’s a great start to the day.
We stop for lunch at Pacific City and given it’s the weekend, it’s bustling with the tourist crowd. We are entertained with some great people watching though. Our favorite: Watching people get their cars stuck in the sand with the tide coming in!
Riding down the coast along the rocky cliffs it feels like we’re on the edge of the world. It’s awesome to look out over the Pacific and see blue ocean all the way to the horizon.
We rode all this way north so we could ride down the Pacific coast. It was worth it. All the miles and everything that came with them. The heat, cold, rain, wind, mountains, bad roads, bad drivers, bugs, and all the days I wore my grumpy pants. Everything. It was all worth it so I can sit and watch the sun go down over the Pacific. I think I could see this a thousand times and still be in awe.
