Thank you again to Cril for graciously hosting us last night!
We leisurely make our way north to Salt Lake City. We only have 20 or so miles to get to my friend Eric’s house. We stop for an early lunch at Bohemian Brewery and enjoy some deliciously meaty Czech fare.
Scott is passionate about beer. He previously brewed his own beer, hence his interest in the art of craft brewing. He’s prone to give dissertations on a beer, a breakdown of the ingredients used, and how it’s brewed to create its unique (or sometimes not so unique) taste. We make a stop at Red Rock Brewery for some additional tasting as we meander our way north.
We arrive at Eric’s and are welcomed with a huge salad made with harvests from his garden. Everything is so delightfully fresh. So far we are making good on our promise.
We are starting to create a list of things that are important to us when we settle down again. I have always wanted a garden. I had a couple of failed attempts in Texas, not sure if this was due to a lack of green thumb or inadequate gardening space. Scott dreams of homebrewing again. There’s something rewarding in the ability to produce our own food.
